◐ Close the app instead
A database or web server, usually started with Homebrew.
What it is
Developers run these locally. They often start at login if set up with “brew services”.
If you close it
Apps and projects using it lose their connection. Stop it with “brew services stop” instead.
The verdict
◐ Close the app instead. A part of an app. Closing it alone breaks something, so close its app.
