Parts of apps
Google Chrome Helper (Renderer)Chrome tab
◐ Close the app instead
One open tab, extension or web app in Chrome.
What it is
Chrome runs each tab and extension as one of these, so a broken page can’t crash the others. Many open tabs means many of these.
Why it might be busy
A tab is playing video, running a web app or stuck in a loop. Usually until you close or pause that tab.
If you close it
Closing one makes that tab show “Aw, Snap!”. Close the tab in Chrome instead, or close Chrome.
The verdict
◐ Close the app instead. A part of an app. Closing it alone breaks something, so close its app.
